"Injustice: Gods Among Us", the new fighting game by the notorious developers of the Mortal Kombat series, takes the classical, old school superheroes of DC Comics (Batman, Green Lantern, Superman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, etc.) and interprets them with the typical style of MK.

The final result is cheesy, colourful, juvenile characters that seem invented by a 6 years old... with the dark pessimism and violence of a Mortal Kombat. An interesting mix of different flavours that work quite well.

The ending credits, under Depeche Mode's song "Angel", show a slow motion of some of the game's moves to better appreciate the sense of pain:…

It's excessive and over-the-top. It's dark and funny at the same time. it's Mortal Kombat with superheroes!

I remember you had a (figurative) hard-on for some series of games about Yakuza, right? Check out Sleeping Dogs, it's like GTA in Hong Kong with a protagonist bearing similarities to Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee, with plot revolving about the Triads. You might find it to your liking. Hell, you probably know all about it already, but if not, here's a trailer: [link]

Yup yup, I do know about that game! But I wonder if the plot will be good. I actually need a demo, something to get an effective idea. Do you have any knowledge on the subject?

There's a demo on Steam, IIRC. I beat the game back in the summer, the plot pretty cool in my book, got me immersed. Sleeping Dogs is one of the very few games that came out this year that I've actually managed to finish. The only other I recall being Spec Ops: The Line, which had a spectaculary surprising and fine plot. Anyways, SD has a nice enough plot (although the finale was a bit of a letdown, and overall the game is a bit short when you compare it to, say, the GTA series), looks beautiful and is quite entertaining to play. Driving physics are arcadeish, but not an abomination like Saints Row 2. Feels a bit strange at first, but I got used to it pretty fast. The melee combat system is especially fun, the level of both finesse and brutality is glorious. A title worth checking out, IMHO.

Sorry to bother you, but I've got news from the salt mines. A Rocket Raccoon player has just won a major tournament!

*ahem* Hello! *tips hat* I'm sorry to bother you, but I believe I remember you from the MvC3 boards on GameFAQs. I'm not so sure if you remember me, though. I go by GameNerd1994 on there.
